Rally scheduled to honor Lumberjacks

Campus and community invited to help celebrate 2008-09 season

Thursday, March 26 at 4:30 p.m. in the plaza on the east side of the Baker Pattillo Student Center.

The Lumberjacks are coming off a 24-8 season that saw them capture their second consecutive Southland Conference regular-season championship. SFA also took the 2009 SLC Tournament title, earning the program's first-ever berth in the NCAA Championships.

Speakers at the rally will include Nacogdoches Mayor Roger Van Horn, Nacogdoches County Judge Joe English, SFA Director of Athletics Robert Hill and Lumberjack Head Coach Danny Kaspar. The Roarin' Buzzsaws Pep Band will perform at the event, and fans will have the chance to meet and greet the Lumberjack players and coaches.

Bottled water and soft drinks will be provided free of charge. Following the ceremony in the plaza, fans are invited to join the team in the Student Center movie theatre to watch a brief highlight film from the Lumberjacks championship campaign and postseason run. The SFA Student Activities Association will provide popcorn at the theatre.

In the event of inclement weather, proceedings will be moved inside.
