Kid Fish Tournament at Lakeside Park - Jan. 26

Nearly 800 rainbow trout between 8 and 18 inches in length will be stocked in the pond at Lakeside Park on Pearl Street just in time for the annual Nacogdoches Kid Fish Tournament set for 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26.

Lightweight rods and reels, small hooks and weights and canned corn are suggested equipment, along with Berkley power baits, small spinners, live worms and small spoon.

All anglers must provide their own fishing equipment and a strict limit of five trout per person will be enforced.

Organizers include Kathy Joslyn and Tracy Rucker with the city of Nacogdoches, Todd Driscoll with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department; Doug James with Executive Guide Service; and Chris Fedun with General Mills.
