Construction on the 100-megawatt biomass facility in Sacul is expected to begin in September, according to Nacogdoches Power fuel procurement manager Stephen McInnis, who gave an update of the project during the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce Fourth Friday luncheon.

Nacogdoches Power, a subsidiary of American Renewables, (a partnership between Baycorp Holdings, Energy Management and Tyr Energy) recently signed an Engineer, Procur, Construct (EPC) contract with one of the four construction contractor who made bids to oversee the project, and much of everything else that needed to be in place before construction starts, has been done, according to McInnis.
